There's quite a few USB power sources (marketed as Emergency Phone Chargers) around including some that run off normal batteries. I can get one of those at any supermarket around here. They'll last longer than 15 seconds too.
There's also the option of making your own with a 9v battery, a diode, a resistor and a mini-usb plug.
