Hi Carl,

You can certainly have different Declude configs for specific domains and/or
users.

Copy your $default$.junkmail to a new filename, e.g. $example.com$.junkmail,
and adjust it accordingly. Then in the $default$.junkmail, insert lines at
the beginning like the below to switch the specified domains and/or user
accounts to the alternate config(s).

# alternate config for a domain
REDIRECT @example.com F:\IMail\Declude\$example.com$.junkmail

# alternate config for a user
REDIRECT [email protected] F:\IMail\Declude\$user_example.com$.junkmail

You can name the config files anything you want. The above are just
placeholder names.

We use that feature to turn off filtering for postmaster@ and abuse@
accounts in each domain we host. We have not had any domains or users that
wanted to turn off filtering, but we have an emphasis on making sure all
legitimate email gets delivered, and adjust filters constantly to achieve
that result.

You could also set up Declude to route messages marked as spam into a
separate folder for the user and allow them to check that mail folder
themselves. We polled our users and they overwhelmingly asked us not to do
that, and asked us to continue monitoring held messages so they receive
virtually no spam and all legitimate email with no bulk or spam folder to
have to check.

Hope this helps,

Darin.

Subject: [MBF]relax filters/thresholds on a per user basis

I often have specific users, who unlike others under their domain, would
prefer to

receive all email rather than have ANY be held, who’s concern about false
positives

is much greater than their concern about being sullied by the sight of any
spam as per other users.

I never find a whole organization can agree on a preferred set of
SUBJECT/HOLD thresholds.

Does anyone know if there is a way to have a per-user based
$default.junkmail$ file or is there

some magic I could put in the config or filter files to whitelist all
incoming

mail that has a particular TO address?

Carl
