Friends, I've been checking the web on the Burpee story, and have not found corroboration in the Federally filed M&A pages, kind of important as I believe that Seminis is a publicly traded wholy owned subsidiary of Monsanto. I may have been "punked," by a blog. On Monday, a few phone calls to Semenis & Burpee should clear this up. This may be a malicious rumor that I've passed on, figuring it was fact.
