Program Manager DEPT/DIV: Gateway Greening, Inc. STATUS: Full time, Regular Designs, manages, implements, and evaluates neighborhood greening and community garden programs for Gateway Greening. Assists community groups in the development of projects. Reviews for acceptance proposals from community groups for services, writes reports to funding agencies, and purchases materials for community gardens. Assists in budget preparation and management of agency funds. Serves as spokesperson for Gateway Greening before groups and the media. Works with a very diverse group of constituents and volunteers. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in community social service, horticulture, or related area, Master's degree preferred, and three year's previous experience in gardening operations/administration environment inclusive of experience with community outreach programming required. Group facilitation and leadership skills strongly desired. Knowledge of community development in urban environment and strategic planning a plus. Familiarity with gardening equipment operation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy, including knowledge of database management essential. Ability to work varying schedules, including Saturdays March - October and some evenings. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Excellent benefits via the Missouri Botanical Garden.
