John, The Clinton Community Garden has piped in water from the street due to a grant we wrote a number of years ago, but when we rain used barrels (we still have one) , we used plastic or wood in order to avoid the rust problem.
We scrounged the plastic barrels that we had and I suggest that your guy do the same. Or ya need to find metal drums that are rust proof. Capisce? Best wishes, Adam Honigman << ubj: [cg] Rusted water drums - what to do? Date: 3/24/03 2:42:41 PM Eastern Standard Time From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (John Verin) Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (CG List (E-mail)) This from a gardener in Philly: Our water barrels got really rusty. I emptied them out, but I'm concerned about using them now. Do you have any advice? Can they be cleaned, how much rust is ok?
