Dear Colleagues: Bitter Root Land Trust is hiring for an AmeriCorps*VISTA position for the Bitter Root Valley Community Gardens project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to practice leadership working in an entrepreneurial non-profit environment, within a wonderful community, and among supportive partners.

Thank you. ~~~~~~~~~ VISTA POSITION AVAILABLE Bitter Root Valley Community Gardens Bitterroot Valley, Montana An exciting AmeriCorps*VISTA National Service position is available in beautiful Hamilton, Montana. About VISTA: VISTA members help communities and citizens fight poverty problems by helping them assess needs, plan strategically, raise awareness of poverty issues, write grants, and recruit volunteers VISTA members serve full-time for one-year and: ' receive a monthly living allowance of $800, health insurance, and a relocation allowance, ' receive excellent training presented by AmeriCorps*VISTA National Service, ' receive personal mentoring from host site staff, ' enjoy a year as part of our community. ' Upon completion of service receive an education award of $4725 or a cash stipend of $1200. About the Position: This VISTA member will facilitate an energetic and growing coalition of project partners (City of Hamilton, Bitter Root Land Trust, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Ravalli County Extension, Hamilton School District, Children's Garden) by helping: 1) complete an assessment of the need for emergency food resources; 2) recruit a committed group of project partners to complete a strategic plan; 3) lead implementation of the plan (create a garden!); and 4) evaluate results. The VISTA will work at Bitter Root Land Trust offices. Project partner offices and gardens are located within a mile of each other. Project partners are eager to mentor and support a VISTA member.
