among my comments are that the quality of soil would be better in these plots in the long term if you would stop tilling altogether. require and teach high quality soil care. provide lots of yummy compost from the Intervale periodically throughout the season. be sure there is a cleanup deadline so that plots are either winterized or still growing viable crops. be sure there is similarly a startup deadline so plots are under cultivation.
