It's not just the plants; it's the spirit, the socializing, the friendships
made, the people feeling included. I don't know many on this list, in fact, I don't personally know any of you, but here, here Jude Carson, ditto your posting. To a newcomer, it's these postings that keep me coming back, keep me hanging in there, and despite the disagreements on processing, make me feel connected to those who also revel in the dirt, no matter how short the season! Speaking of short season, a few may remember, I'm the one asking stupid questions about treated seeds this spring, in order to make a point to those who (in our community garden), did not believe in organics, and to Mr. Mc"high-horse", who asked, why bother with sweet corn at this altitude? The harvest of 100% truly organic sweet corn grown at 7,000 feet in the Rockies, the taste is simply incredible, the cool nights we get bring out the sugars, and nothing tastes as sweet as success! Thanks for all the support, keeping it organic, despite short season, Tina [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of jude carson Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 8:04 AM To: Bailey, Sarah; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [Community_garden] Thinking of Mrs. Astor,Spring & the Closing of a Hospital I have to add a few words from Canada about Adam's return to the list. Adam, you are part of the "soul" of community gardening that makes it so special. It's not just the plants; it's the spirit, the socialising, the friendships made, the people feeling included. You embody all of this and your email was so evocative. And it's postings like yours that make this list so vital. Thanks for sharing.
