Aloha fellow food system advocates, creating healthy food for all! My question is how to begin urban gardens? Who and how, specifically, does one approach for vacant land? Can one get buy-in from a land owner who may be more interested in using the land for development? Should urban gardens be limited to a particular type of land space that is made available, or is water a sufficient requirement, since one can do raised beds. I am sure there are a million questions to think of. What would be some of the best practice guides to creating many urban garden spaces in a city such as Honolulu, where we have some of the most favorable weather in the world?
