Would you believe some people recommended rubbing alcohol? If it could kill
people and animals, what would it do to those poor little tomato babies?
Hmmm.
Actually, It only cost me a pint of pure Gin....
and in the end about 4 oz of Rum. Not to bad. I'm a Tea Totaler myself so I
didn't miss it. And besides, If you went out in the wee morning light, and
crept up to the planter, sometimes you could hear them singing and partying.
As soon as I lifted the door. They'd stop as if nothing was going on. But I
know better. Because the untreated Tomato Seedlings (who were on the other
side of the box) looked tired and saggy like they weren't getting any sleep.
Do you suppose the information might be useful to some folks? Notice that
almost exactly twice the number of Alcohol Treated tomatoes survived than
the Non-Treated. Could we take advantage of that information? I think the
Gin was well spent. I had a lot of fun and I didn't have to drink the stuff.
And! I have 45 Tomatoes to plant out in the spring. Unless I accidentally
kill them....
Have Fun!

Subject: [Community_garden] A waste of good gin?
Robert, I encourage your scientific curiosity, but in this case, it seems
like a waste of good gin! Karen
