I have recently joined the faculty at Ohio Northern University. There is an
excellent 6 year pharmacy program on campus. I am trying to raise the
awareness of these students and others to the value of herbal medicines. To
this end I am offering a special topics course in Herbal Medicine this quarter.
Aside from making fire cider, various teas, soaps, tinctures...there is a
service learning component to this course: we are installing a medicinal herb
garden on campus. The dean of the pharmacy school has given us a south facing
wall of the pharmacy building for our garden site, buildings and grounds has
promised us mulch and will cut slices of logs for us to have stepping stones to
make a pathway through our garden to make it more inviting for folks to walk
through. Each student has chosen one herb to investigate - they are presenting
their findings to the class, and we are putting the information on a web link
from the school website. In addition we will have a sign at the entrance to
the garden and a pamphlet box on the post which will have a self guided tour
giving some highlights of each plant. We are appealing to you for support we
need donations of herbs. The students have chosen perennials which are well
suited to this area. (see list below). If you could possibly help out our
efforts to increase awareness of medicinal herbs, your donation would be most
appreciated and would be published in our pamphlet.

If you have any of the herbs below which you can share with us, I will arrange
to come down and pick them up
Thank you in advance for your support of this medicinal herb garden.
