To be more specific, what you probably want is the Garden Resource Program. The Greening of Detroit is one of the members of the collaborative, along with Mich. State Extension, Earthworks Garden, and the Detroit Agriculture Network. The tour, described below, is coming up on August 4.Wed, August 4, 6pm �C 8pmWhereleaves from Catherine Ferguson Academy (CFA) - 2750 Selden Detroit, MI 48208 (map)DescriptionThe 13th Annual Detroit Agriculture Network Tour will take place on Wednesday, August 4th and highlights a selection of thriving community gardens, productive market gardens, stately passive-solar greenhouses, lively educational programming, and a growing network of self-sufficient gardeners, farmers, and friends taking root in Detroit. Participants choose from six routes, including bus tours to eastside, westside, and central city gardens and three bicycle routes weaving through gardens located in Cass Corridor, Woodbridge, and Greater Corktown. All tours will leave from Catherine Ferguson Academy located at 2750 Selden in Detroit. Check-in begins at 5:00 pm and tours will leave at 6:00 pm sharp. After the Tour, a reception featuring locally�\grown food prepared by local restaurants and chefs will provide visitors with a delicious taste of Detroit! When registering, please give the name of every person attending the Tour and specify which route �C bus (east, west, or central) or bike - you are registering for. The fee for participation is a sliding scale of $1 �\ $20 to offset costs and help grow Detroit’s agricultural movement and should be paid at check-in on Aug 4th. Two years ago we grew over 62 TONS of food in the city limits. Last year i think it was over 100 tons, but i am not sure of that number, so don't quote me!
