Both Scotts potting soils listed in the Washington State Department of
Agriculture, seem to be high in Cobalt. I have not found what is an
acceptable level for the trace metal cobalt, but the State guidelins state
that no more than .594ppm may be added to soil on an annual bases. One of
the Scotts product is at 24 the other at 33 ppm.

Miracle grow potting soil has very high levels of zinc

In my short search did not find any Scot products listed as certified
organic.

Subject: [Community_garden] Is Scott "Premium" Potting Soil Worth Giving to
Community Gardeners

Dear All,

The label is long.

The number of Scotts Premium Potting Soil is 0.07-1.01-0.03

They say info available at

http://www.regulatory-info-sc.com

Helpline: 1 866 4Scotts

I have been told to go to a place where they are giving away
damaged bags of this material.

Before I give it to anyone I would like to do "due diligence."

I don't have time to do it today because they are only giving it
away this afternoon.

Hope my trip is worth it!
