The Liz Christy Community Garden is a good starting point. From there you can
walk to many of the many community gardens in the East Village. If you like I
can email you a walking tour guide to the East Village community gardens

Hi,

We're going to NYC in Oct. & would like to visit a couple of community
gardens in Manhattan. Can anyone recommend any?

Thanks,
