Hello My American Friends,
Something new from Waterloo, Ontario: Judy Maan Miedema conducted some ethnographic research last year with her colleague, Dr. Ellen Desjardins, University of Waterloo. The results are just being released. The Region of Waterloo Public Health recently completed a Community Gardening Storytelling Project in which we used unstructured, ethnographic interviews to learn more about the meaning of community gardening in people's lives. Then - in keeping with a storytelling approach - we produced three short videos to illustrate the three main themes from our research - inclusion, health, and learning. You will find links to the three videos and final report below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt1s6x61jgc - health http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtQBwCitPCs - learning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_DsxrRoJiQ&list=UUb78Kw3EUviBPU4apNVmjUA&index=1 - inclusion http://chd.region.waterloo.on.ca/en/researchResourcesPublications/resources/Community_Gardening_Storytelling_Project.pdf - full report which contains the 9 vignettes Carol Popovic R.N., B.Sc.N.
