Hello,

I do not understand the need to have electrical power in a community garden.
Are you running a garden or a kitchen?

Subject: [Community_garden] Does your garden have solar panels?

We are thinking about installing a couple of solar panels on the almost-flat
roof of our garden shed in sunny Los Angeles. The power would go to a battery
inside the secure part of the shed to be used to power electrical tools, an
occasional hot water kettle and (if there's enough power) a small refrigerator.

The only issues we've identified have been: possibility someone sees the panels
from the street or a neighboring house and vandalizes them, and the need to
secure the panels in a way that doesn't pierce the roof of the shed (to allow
in rain).

We have someone calculating the amount of wattage necessary for these uses.

Has any other garden installed and/or used solar panels? Any cautions or tips?
