In Alaska, where our power costs are great, we have moved to T-5 high efficient
florescent lights.

I would actually look at the book by Eliot Coleman of Maine about growing in
the winter....I am thinking you can do most of your growing outside under 'low
hoops' . I think ATL gets more than 10 hours a day in light and thus things
will grow, see his book and he explains the plants needs.

Just a thought and what I would explored before heading to before adding lights
and the cost to things.

Subject: [Community_garden] Grow Lights

I am seeking information on using grow lights to grow fresh vegetables year
round. Can anyone share some information. Prices range from $100 to $1500.
Waiting on your advice.
