NC Community Gardening Conference in Asheville, October 25
Interested in cultivating friendships and growing vegetables? Want to start a
new community garden in your neighborhood, or at your school, job, or place of
worship? Looking for ways to make your existing community garden more
successful and sustainable ?
Explore these questions and more at the 2014 annual conference of the North
Carolina Community Garden Partners, in Asheville, on Saturday, October 25. The
University of North Carolina, Asheville will host the all-day gathering on
campus at the Sherrill Center, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. The event is open to the
public.
A tour of UNCA community gardens will cap a day of workshops and speakers on
topics ranging from controlling pests to community-wide organizing. The event
also includes a delicious lunch with local ingredients, and a raffle with
garden-inspired items.
Tickets (including lunch) are $15 for NCCGP members, $20 for non-members, and
$10 for students, with a limited number of tickets available at the door
(advance purchase is recommended since past conferences have sold out.)
