Of course this will solve the conflicts, but this is not the solution
I am looking for.
I like the idea of really short url like domain.com/username and I'd
like to keep it that way.
btw I would change Syste's solution:
all You need is this change in routes.rb
-resources :users, :member_path => '/:id', :nested_member_path =>
'/:user_id', :member => {
+resources :users, :member => {
