I've had good experiences with the lightweight Comatose CMS. I haven't had a 
need for my CE project yet, but Comatose is a standard Rails plugin and should 
work mostly out of the box.

No, HomepageFeatures in not a CMS-like function. I can't recommend a specific 
CMS, but anything that works with acts_as_authenticated should work. Really, it 
should be independent of CE anyway.
Anyone out there using CE along with a CMS?
