I got CE up and running on my Windows machine (Ruby 1.8.6 and Rails 2.3.2). Initial home page launch took over 9 secs, subsequent clicking of Forums, Popular, People with an empty database averaged between 3-5 secs. I'm concerned about the performance as it is with an empty database, what is the performance like in the field? FYI I plan to deploy on Linux.
