Hi Siyan, The easiest way to see what's happening in CE development is to look at the edge CHANGELOG:
http://github.com/bborn/communityengine/blob/edge/CHANGELOG This is the stuff that will be moved into the master branch with the next major version release (which will be v1.0.5). That said, there are no big plans for new functionality; at this point most of the changes have to do with refactoring, fixing bugs, and upgrading coding practices (for example, switching to Authlogic from restful_auth).
