Nice, I did same thing in http://www.borracho.ru/bplaces (unfortunately the site is in Russian only) Also, I'd implemented geotags for users and registred users can find other users that are in specified distance from them. If it's interesting, I made a guest account - login: ce_guest pass: guest.
