I like that approach, but was looking for a way to do it w/o modifying any files, therefore, requiring a deployment. I was going to look into modifying the bad page behavior that currently takes the user to the login page when a bad url comes in, but have not had time to look into it.
I assume that will be a pretty easy change, and will allow me to do what I'm looking for with no work at all. The question is, what browser code gets thrown when a bad page comes in, and will google freak out if it indexes that URL. The benefit to your approach is that you can actually create a page, and have content on it. -- Levi Rosol Twitter: @LeviRosol On Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 2:43 PM, Bruno Bornsztein < [email protected]> wrote: > Sure, just add routes: > > map.ning_home '/ning', :controller => "base", :action => "site_index" > > > In fact, I do this on Curbly: http://www.curbly.com/make-it-mid-century > > map.makeit '/make-it-mid-century', :controller => "pages", :action => > "show", :id => '3' > > (Which renders this page: http://curbly.com/pages/3) > > Make sense? > > > On Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM, Levi Rosol <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Pretty sure I know the answer to this, but is there built in functionality >> within CE to easily create new landing pages?
