FWIW, I'm using compass for a non-CE project right now and it makes
Heroku integration much less of a pain. The greatest speed gains with
Compass come when writing a site from scratch, though, whereas with CE
there's a ton of ready-to-go CSS that can just be tweaked and
overridden.
