Hi guys- if some of you think this will sound familiar, it's because I
first brought it up back in September. Back then, Bruno came to our
rescue when we needed to move our Community Engine site from a server
that was being shut down to Heroku, and I had no clue how to do this.
I'm a fairly web-savvy guy, I build and host some websites, but I'd
never done anything related to the cloud-based app model of hosting
that Heroku and CE uses. (And since then, I still haven't). We're very
grateful to Bruno for helping us.

Since then, the website (http://www.actionforanimalsaustin.org) has
had an intermittent problem where the homepage stops working; when you
load it, all you get is a page of white. Every other page (login,
recent, etc) still works, but most people assume the site is broken
when they go to the homepage and get nothing. After a while the
homepage starts working again on its own. There doesn't appear to be
any rhyme or reason as to when it stops and restarts working- the
downtime duration can be days or weeks. I just checked and it
currently has not had a working homepage in about a week.

I do not have the first clue how to troubleshoot this, but I figure
the first problem I need to solve is that I can't act as an
administrator for the "Action For Animals" Community. My CE account
for this site is just a regular user. And I can't administer the app
on Heroku- the only thing I'm able to do with the credentials I got
when we were setup with Heroku is to log in to Heroku's website and
administer our Heroku account. I'm sure that is not where I would run
"rake tasks" or any of the other stuff I apparently need to be able to
do.

Unrelated circumstances prevented me from working on this back in
September, or since then, but when I did post about this originally,
some of you tried to help me with advice on how to access our Heroku
app. Each time I was told to go to our app's directory and start a
Heroku console. I've used a terminal before, but I have no idea how to
use one to go to our app's directory- I don't know how to reach Heroku
via terminal. Do I even use a terminal? I'm pretty sure SSH is not the
way to go with Heroku.

If someone could give me an explanation from Step 0 on how I can
access our Heroku CE app and administer it, I'm pretty sure I have the
credentials to authenticate myself. Then, once I'm in, I'll move on to
trying to figure out how to troubleshoot our disappearing homepage.
