It just means they're plugins that add functionality that I didn't think
belonged in the core. They took me a long time to develop, so I decided to
charge for them. Nothing's stopping anyone from writing similar/competing
plugins and offering them up for free. There's nothing I could (or would) do
to stop it.

Just as a reminder; this is a distributed project. There are lots of
different forks out there, mine's just the original, and the one linked from
CommunityEngine.org (which is down today due to DNS issues).

Hope that helps; I'm always trying to encourage more developer
contributions, especially in terms of documentation. Also, the Rails3 branch
is getting pretty close to release, and there are plenty of places to help
out there.
