The Topic: Modelling the staggered development and the decline with age of spatial coding in the mammalian brain + data analysis of single neuron recordings. In particular, the student will model the interactions between various spatial cells (head direction, place cells, etc) - e.g., in Matlab/Python. Candidates: This could be an interesting project for neuroscience/psychology graduates wanting to get into modelling. Students from outside these fields with a quantitative/programming background are welcome to apply too.
