I've never seen any 16MB 30-pin SIMMs that physically fit an SE/30 that
didn't work properly.  A lot of them don't physically fit, and the ones
that do are sufficiently modern enough that refresh rates should be a
non-issue.

If you're particularly concerned, I would suggest you grab a copy of GURU
and see for yourself.
