kinda, depends upon what you mean by "non-wintel" and "bits and pieces" with those motherboards and stuff, you could build non-windows machines, and run linux or OpenBSD or Solaris for IA32, or something like that, but they'll still and always be intel architechture hardware, just not WinTel, they'll be BSDTel or SunTel or LinTel. :-) That's not really wintel, but it's still intel. As far as not windows, not intel, that's doable, if you change your definition of "bits and pieces". I'm building myself a big overclocked G3 powered 9600, and almost everything except the 9600 itself (and the G3) is going to be "wintel" hardware. the Voodoo3 is flashed from intel to PowerPC, the USB card only said anything about windows, the hard drives and burner are coming from best buy, etc. It will definitely be a mac, but very little of the hardware will be mac-specific. I know that neither of those is what you were thinking of at the beginning, sorry to disappoint.
