Anyone here who has done the VGA (not Hi-Res) modification to a CC with a
lc575 mobo--has anyone had any luck with adjusting the P1 potentiometer on
the logic board to wided the viewable area of the screen to the edges? I put
in a capacitor like the websites explain, a .01pf ceramic disc cap rated at
2000kVDC hoping it would widen it. Before that, after I did the
modification, the screen looked correct, but the screen had a large border
on the left and right. Putting the cap in helped widen it, but not enough
and it is curved, meaning that the sides are "cresent shaped" inward and no
adjustment will help. I also very slightly raised the p1 value at the same
time and at present, the lettering is also somewhat distorted. Should I
further increase the P1 value, or try a better cap. NOTE: when I went to an
electronics shop for a 1nf cap rated at 1500v, he looked at me weird and
said that they haven't used those since televisions and radios had vaccum
tubes in them! So is my cap good enough, or should I try to use two of them
in there :-) ??.....................Mike T.
