Thanks for the detailed response, Clark. This info coupled with the 
previous material on pin counts makes sense for me, now. I'd much rather 
have the correct detail than the global generality provided to make 
something "user-friendly". Too often user-friendly is a euphemism for "we 
marketing types think the end user is as clueless as we are - and wants to 
stay that way."

You may see yourself as a "designated driver," but I see you more like the 
guys in the orange pickup trucks with the blinking lights and the sign that 
says "Motorist Assistance" who frequent the main routes around my area.   ;-)

Which brings to mind the VR components of the otherwise egregiously bad 
"Net Force" books "created" by Tom Clancy & friends. Mostly rubbish, if a 
fast read, but I did like the concept of merged consensual realities in VR 
net cruising. I'm looking forward to walking the Web a la Neuromancer some day.
