I have the same printer (Epson Stylus Color 850) as you. Taking a look on the back of mine - I can only see a Mac printer port (serial) and a parallel printer port.
I'm not sure what OS is supported by the Epson software <looks like 7.5 is the minimum after a quick check>. http://support.epson.com/hardware/printer/inkjet/sc850_/index.html Your other alternatives for connecting this printer to a Mac are 1) AXIS 1440 print server connects the parallel printer port to an ethernet netowrk.
