This post is toeing the line of "offtopic", but I've got no
one else to ask so here goes:

I just purchased a CDRW drive for my G4 mac for backing up
its hard drives. I figured I could use it to back up my
other Mac's drives as well. My question is do I have to dump
my hard drives from the other machines onto the G4's hard
drive before I burn a copy of them, or can Toast (5.0, I
think?) read them over my 10baseT network. If it can (which
I'm thinking it can't) do this, would it be faster/better
not to?

Back to "ontopic": Awhile ago I asked if anyone knew
anything about a tape backup drive I aquired (40SC) and got
referred to Gamba's site for info. The info it gave me
(which was great,BTW) provided a lot of useful information.
The key piece I was looking for was missing. It didn't state
what type of cassette it used. So, if anyone knows what tape
it uses, can you please drop me a line? I know it's
impractical to use this device when I have a 100M Zip drive
hooked up to my machine and a 250M acessable through my home
network, as well as this CDRW drive, but I'd still like to
see if this machine at least works. (WOW! That sentance was
longer than a lot of posts here :) ) Better yet, if someone
knows where I may find one or two of these tapes, they would
speed up the process of my realizing this drive is pretty
worthless.

Thanks,

J White
