either move the desktop files (not the desktop folder, that's where the stuff on the desktop is) into the trash before moving the disk back to the plus, or use the utility previously mentioned, which is probably a better solution. no need to do any thing when moving it from the plus to the newer machine, it will do what it wants. that's the problem, the newer os modifies the desktop files to what it likes, although it can read the earlier one, and then this updated desktop file is unusable on the plus with an older os. definitely a bug. try the utility, if that doesn't work check the shareware sites, or possibly apple.com for their answer, which i believe is basically what i've said.
