Agreed, from my experience with OT/PPP, the choice of modem script is
important. You can't use any old 3Com script on a 3Com modem, ditto for my
other modem, an Elsa (German).... the latter needed one particular script to
work at all... whereas I seem to remember some of the 3Com scripts at least
started my modem some way through the connection process before failing...
in both cases, you needed to hunt down the right script ('CCL')...
