I went to college from '85 to '89 and my idea of a computer at that time was an Atari 800 (remember those? with the BASIC cartridge??). At college I had some engineering friends, one of whom owned an Apple II with TWO floppy drives (ooooohh..his parents must be rich!!). He later, along with his roommate, both upgraded to an SE. I know they were SE's cause I remember how they looked and I distinctly remember the 2 internal floppy drives. Used to have great fun creating Led Zeppelin "Zoso" emblems with MacPaint and printing them up on the ole Imagewriter. They had them networked along with something that tied up their phone lines so they could go "online", whatever the hell that is :-) . Another friend of mine acheived this with a Commodore 64 as well. I think they dialed in to some BBS related to their engineering studies. Who knows....I was stuck with the school's mainframe computer lab that had BASIC and DOS programs running. In 1989, I was still doing word processing on computers that had 5.25 floppies, so what do I know?? But here we are over a decade later and I have a nice Mystic CC to play with, something I couldn't of dreamed of affording then. ......................................Mike T. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vern Andrews" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Compact Macs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, August 01, 2002 7:32 PM Subject: Re: reminiscing SE Graphics !!
