oh, well, if you have the system on floppies or a cd (and you have an
external cdrom drive) it's easy, but obviously that's not the case. 
otherwise, the best way is to set it up on another machine, using "wish
i were" to fool the installer so it installs the right stuff on the
drive and then hook the drive up to the machine you want to use it with.
 i've done it that way myself a few times when all i had was the
downloaded disk images from apple and didn't/couldn't transfer it to
floppies.  just mount all the images and it should work.
