My Mac Classic just suddenly wont read the internal
40MB SCSI HD. Prior to this, I kept hearing some
funny whizzing and intermittent crackling sound (kinda
like an IDE drive in an old PC). This sound is not
previously present. Then it went dead and asking for
system diskette icon w/ a ? mark. I boot up using the
6.07 diskette first aid, but cannot detect the SCSI
HD. Would this mean the SCSI HD is dead? What is
this sound, is this due to heat from HD? By the way my
classic has 2mb with built in fan. The SCSI HD came
from my LC II dead machine (therefore I assume this
has already the "SCSI terminator" or whatever that
means in the FAQ. This works previously fine. So can
anyone enlighten me.

Thanks.

Henri
