OK System 6 experts! I confess I have strayed from the fold. I got myself a 9150 WGS with a 120Mhz PPC! As a result my little Classic II that was running 7.6.1 is feeling a little slow......
So I thought I'd try 6.0.8L again. Now I remember why I didn't stick with that :-) This Classic II sits on my office desk, connected to my works ethernet by an Asante EN/SC. I have this nice s/w called VersaTerm-PRO which I can use to Telnet to the companies UNIX boxes and it includes a LAT tool which I use to terminal to an old VAX system. This s/w says it will work with system 6, but that the Com Tool Box must be installed. So I loaded 6.0.8L, and found (via Gambas site) the basic connectivity set disk image. This disk does not have an "installer", so I assumed I just had to copy the contents into the system folder. However, when I tried the VersaTerm installer, it stopped and told me I had to install the com tool box first :-P So what now? Did the "Com Tool Box" originally come with an installer? Can anybody help? Thanks! John (keeping "Road Apples" out the gutter) -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
