It is complicated. At least you can read 1.44 floppies on an LC. I found
that it worked best for me to format the floppies on my Mac first, then
mount them and write them on my Linux box. I hate to steal the pickle's
thunder, but read the FAQ for details on setting up things to populate a
Mac from a Windows or Linux box.

Ehernet cards for an LC are fairly cheap. Contact olde-mac-milt on eBay. He
can almost certainly set you up with a card and an FPU combo. Once you get
onto your LAN, managing your Mac will become easy.
