Over the years I have read that the Lisa used a different model of 400K drive to the 
Mac 128/512K. I don't know whether this is related to the issue Stuart describes.

To quote the Apple Lisa DIY Repair Manual from Sun Remarketing, "Despite the 
mechanical similarity between 400K drives (right down to the same part numbers!), the 
OEM Lisa model has a different eject mechanism." The manual then goes on to describe 
problems with disks that are not properly jected on a Lisa if a Mac drive is used.

I'll see if I can sort out a comparative photo of the two mechanisms this evening.
