Because my HD20s (I have 3, and they work great > with my 512s) will not work with my group of 128K macs. Newton Day came early for me this year and I acquired an HD20 for my 512K last month. The documentation says nothing about the requirement for a 512K or Ke as opposed to a Mac 128 and everything I have ever read suggests that it should work with a 128. I assume that you have the HD20 INIT on the 128 boot disk? Are your 512s equipped with original 64K ROMs or have they been upgraded to 512Ke status which would provide HFS support and the ability to boot from an 800K floppy? Mail me off list if you need a disk image of the original HD20 boot floppy. Phil --- http://www.mandrake.demon.co.uk/Apple/ -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
