Thanks for the offer. I won't toss that iMac. I'll give it to someone
who can use it for charity related purposes. 'Giving it to the
garbage man' was more of an expression than an actual plan. I have
used this machine for 4 years, earning my bread and butter on it, now
it is time to move along to a more recent computer. Don't know which
one, none of the so called modern Macs Apple is selling at the moment
seems very appealing to me, if I had the choice I'd probably get a
cube... But I don't seem to have that choice.
I live in two different worlds: At home I play with and try to
preserve 10-16 year old vintage stuff, at the office I kiss goodbye
computers older than 3 years that won't work anymore. Why? Because at
the office it is less costly for me to just buy a new or newish Mac
than to spend money and time on repairing an old one that is
beginning to grow obsolete anyway.
I do maintain some rather vintage machines in the office too, but
they are used for tasks that don't require much cpu power and keep
on running without any form of maintenance.

Also thanks for the offer helping me out with that CC. At the moment
I haven't yet heard from the guy selling it, so I am affraid somebody
else has already bought it ...

BTW If anyone on this list has a CC that he or she wants to sell to
me, I'm all ears. Contact me off list of course.
