Your SE/30 has a 50 pin internal scsi interface. You could use one with
a 68pin or an SCA interface, but you would need an adapter to make it
work. I'm currently using a 2GB Seagate SCSI disk with an 80pin SCA
interface inside of my SE/30 by using just such an adapter.

I don't that it's the machine as much as the OS. I'm running 7.5.5 on my SE/30 and the 
APS software I used to create the disk carved the disk into two 1GB partitions.
