With 2 32MB EDO (or 60ns FP-DRAM) SIMMs, it runs happily, and OS 9.1 runs well. I just wiped & reloaded my old machine as a living-room Web terminal and MP3 jukebox. iTunes will install, and the UI runs, slowly, but as soon as I try to play any sound - MP3, QT, Internet Radio - it crashes the whole Mac, hard. Even the "restart" button in the error dialog doesn't work. It needs Cmd-Opt-Power to reboot. Sadly, it's also too slow for the modern Web. I'm on a 576Kb ADSL connection, and I've tried IE 5.15, iCab 2.9 and Opera 6, and they're all dog-slow... -- Liam Proven http://welcome.to/liamsweb -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
