Hi all-

I've recently read that one "for sale" listing per year is acceptable
etiquette... if so, please read on; otherwise please disregard and
accept my sincere apologies. I've enjoyed this list for a long time
and do not mean to abuse it!

I'm letting go of some old friends - a Color Classic (mystic) and a
Newton 120 - details as follows:

Apple Macintosh Color Classic (Mystic upgrade)
I puchased this color classic on ebay a few years ago and fixed it up
in my spare time. The motherboard is a "mystic" upgrade - the
motherboard from an LC 580 inserted into the old motherboard's place.
I also performed a VGA upgrade to the analog board, making it possible
for the screen to display up to 640 x 480. Features for this color
classic include:

- Running Mac OS 8.1
- '040 processor running at 33 MHz
- Ethernet card
- 2GB internal SCSI hard drive
- Runs Netscape (4.08), various email clients just fine
- Debian Linux install on separate partition of drive, just for fun
- External SCSI CD-ROM (w/driver)
- Custom paint job - white with a clear coat. Still looks good with
beige stuff, just cleaner than normally possible.

This machine is a lot of fun for the "retro" computing fan who doesn't
want to suffer *too* much - the performance of the machine is quite
good if one is using the software of the era.

How do they say it on TV... but that's not all you get ... I'm also
including a Newton 120 MessagePad in the deal as well. Comes with
connection kit and software, as well as 14.4 Fax/Modem, manuals,
leather case, and Newton Press. As it turns out, these guys go well
together - the Newton Connection Kit does not work on modern macs and
the connection wire works only on old printer/modem ports, which this
color classic has. That's why I'm putting them together.

I've listed on eBay, you can check out the details and pictures there:

Thanks! Hope this is of interest to the group!

John
