Yes G3/400 CPUs rarely get above about 40 degrees C while running idle. Flat out (using [EMAIL PROTECTED]) I've had mine (Al core not Cu) up to 58 or so, but yours being an upgrade chip is likely to be a bit more able to stand being used.
I tried 'temperature monitor' but it reported that my CPU has no sensing components. :-(
Oh good I'm glad mine's not the only G3/400 without one :). I jammed a metal probe thermometer in the fins of the heat-sink, seemed to work.
