Hello,Linux does support Appletalk, and quite well (even on 68k), but not over serial ports (aka Localtalk). Works well over Ethernet and such, and the various Localtalk -> Ethertalk converters should work fine as well.
Linux supports Appletalk via this: http://netatalk.sourceforge.net/. Now whether it will actually build on a 68k is another story... Also,
forgive my ignorance if "localtalk" is different from "Appletalk", but I
think they are the same thing.
