Custom hard drive icon in System 6

First of all, thanks to everyone for helping me to the point that I 
finally have filesharing working between my Plus and my iBook. I have 
one more desire for my Plus: to have a hard drive icon that I like, 
instead of the one created by the drive formatting utility I used.

I downloaded Facade and put the Facade file in the system folder, but I 
don't see any changes. Does anyone here know how to use Facade?

I'm comfortable using ResEdit to copy and paste icons, but it doesn't 
seem possible to use this method to change the hard drive icon, as 
ResEdit just sees the hard drive as a folder, and System 6 doesn't 
display Icon files within a folder.

Perhaps I could use ResEdit to change the icons in my formatting 
utility? Can I back up my hard drive before reformatting with a simple 
Finder copy, or will that omit crucial invisible files?
